Celebrating the Integration of Nuer, Dinka, and Acholi into Google Translate

A Milestone Achievement in Language Digitization

It’s the second half of the year, and it has started with great surprises! Our long-awaited volunteer project, the Nuer Language Digitization and Expansion Project (NDLEP), has finally yielded some fruits. 🎉 The Nuer language, along with Dinka and Acholi, has been successfully integrated into the Google Translate family of languages. This incredible milestone is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.

A Collaborative Effort

This success would not have been possible without the leadership of Dr. Isaac Kueth Gang. He mobilized and brought together like-minded individuals, myself included, who positively contributed to this achievement. We worked tirelessly to ensure that Nuer, Dinka, and Acholi speakers can now translate from and to their native languages using Google Translate. 🌍

The Impact of Small Contributions

This is not just the beginning of a wonderful journey in learning these three languages but also an ever-expanding story of technological advancement throughout the globe. Each small contribution has made a big impact, proving that collective effort can lead to significant achievements. Let’s celebrate this incredible milestone and look forward to more advancements in the future. 🎊
